New York City securities firms have added 1,400 jobs in May and June, and now employ 164,500 people. Securities firms had been losing jobs since August 2007. UBS to Cut Jobs, Raise Pay for the Rest

UBS AG, Switzerland’s biggest lender, will offer investment bankers more pay this year after announcing 2,000 additional job cuts at the unit.
