West Pharmaceuticals Planning to Eliminate 100 Jobs

Following lower than expected third quarter profits, West Pharmaceuticals announced that it will cut about 100 jobs and reevaluate “certain businesses and initiatives”. 3rd quarter earnings were 50 cents per share instead of the 53 cents per share anticipated by analysts. Atlanta Losing 200 Pharma Jobs

Stiefel Laboratories Inc. is moving it’s Atlanta operation to North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park. This move comes months after Stiefel was bought out by UK’s GlaxoSmithKline. 200 Atlanta jobs will be lost, with no word yet on how many jobs will end up in North Carolina.
