Vestas Americas, a subsidiary of Danish company Vestas Wind Systems, has cut 114 jobs at its facilities in Oregon. St. Helens, Oregon’s Biogreen Sustainable Energy is constructing a biomass power plant in La Pine. Oregon’s Hillsboro School District will cut 36 jobs and four days of school. Twenty-seven of those jobs cut are teaching positions. The layoffs also affected 7 staff and two administrators.
