Springdale, Arkansas’ Tyson Foods, the largest US meat producer, will close a plant in Ponca City, Oklahoma and cut 580 jobs. The plant produces deli-style luncheon meats and ham. Weyerhaeuser will close its lumber mills in Wright City, Oklahoma, and Dallas, Oregon, effective immediately. The shutdowns will affect 307 employees.
