Commercial Appeal May Move Printing; Cut 115 Jobs

Memphis, Tennessee’s The Commercial Appeal newspaper may move its printing operations to Journal Publishing in Tupelo, Mississippi, eliminating up to 115 jobs. The Cincinnati Enquirer, that city’s only daily newspaper, has informed its employees that 100 people will be laid off next week. Gannett to Lay Off 1,400 Newspaper Workers

Newspaper publisher Gannett will cut 1,400 jobs, or 3% of its work force. Staffers were informed of the impending layoffs today. The majority of firings will occur before next Friday, July 9th.
