Toronto, Canada’s Array Retail Solutions is shutting down its operations in Decatur and Chattanooga, Tennessee, laying off 145 people. The Chattanooga workers are represented by the United Steelworkers. There was no collective bargaining agreement at the Decatur plant. Array Retail Solutions manufactures in-store marketing displays. Fuel-cell manufacturer Ballard Power Systems will cut 85 jobs, or 20% of its workforce. The layoffs will target the firm’s office in Lowell, Massachusetts, and its Burnaby, British Columbia headquarters. In April, Ballard cut 39 jobs in finance, IT and HR.
