Berkshire Hathaway Cuts 3,000 Jobs

Declining sales of building-related materials has led Berkshire Hathaway Inc. to cut about 3,000 jobs. The cuts were revealed in a regulatory filing made Thursday. McGraw-Hill Consolidation to Cost 550 Jobs

McGraw-Hill will consolidate its educational publishing businesses into a single group, costong 550 employees their jobs. The firm will also sell BusinessWeek magazine.
