Caterpillar Inc. announced plans to invest $2.8 million in a Caterpillar Track Components plant that will create 28 jobs in Danville, Ky.
A news release from Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear’s office said Caterpillar plans to move an existing product line from its plant in Franklin. N.C. to Danville. The Danville plant currently makes parts for Caterpillar heavy equipment, including pins and bushings for tractors and hydraulic excavators, the Associated Press reports.
Caterpillar was granted $500,000 in tax incentives over 10 years by the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority. The Danville plant had 110 employees in 2009.
