dartmouth_160x120Ivy League college Dartmouth, located in Hanover, New Hampshire, will announce lay offs on Monday afternoon. President Jim Yong Kim is expected to announce specifics today after a weekend meeting with the Board of Trustees. Dartmouth has seen a steep decline in the value of its endowment due to poor economic conditions. 60 administrative workers were laid off last year and 60 more accepted early retirement packages. President Kim said that when the budget gap is resolved the school can pursue new initiatives that will attract more revenue and allow some laid off employees to be rehired. Dartmouth College was founded in 1769.
