Continental Cutting 600 Reservation Agent Positions

continentalAs more customers turn to the World Wide Web to book flights, Continental Airlines Inc said it is terminating 600 of its 2,600 reservation agents effective April 11. The company said in an employee memo that the cuts are the result of call volume dropping by 15 percent last year.

Reuters reports that reservation employees with more than 10 years at Continental will be offered an ‘early-out’ program that will include severance and outplacement services.
