Computer maker Dell Inc. will make additional job cuts this week in its ongoing attempt to reduce operating costs.
A spokesman for Dell declined to offer specifics on the layoffs, but did confirm the company is continuing to slash payroll. “We’ve made a number of tough decisions, including some workforce reductions,” spokesman David Frink told the Austin Business Journal. “We took additional action this week at various Dell locations worldwide.”
Dell is the third-largest computer maker in the world. In 2009 the company completed or announced 5,100 job cuts around the world.
