Thomson Reuters announced today that it was cutting 240 jobs from its legal division, with most of the layoffs to come from North America. The legal division is part of the financial data and news provider’s professional business, which includes Westlaw, FindLaw and a publishing unit.
The Thomson Corporation purchased Reuters in April of 2008. The combined company employs approximately 50,000 people world wide and had revenues of $1.4 billion in 2008.
