West Georgia Auto Plant Brings Thousands of Jobs to Alabama

alabamaflag_160x120Automaker Kia’s new plant in West Point, Georgia, lies right along the border with Alabama. Alabama expects the plant to create 9-10,000 jobs, mostly in existing companies that provide supplies for automakers. Hundreds of Alabama residents will also work directly for the plant.

The new plant, which is Kia’s first plant in the United States, officially opens today.
