Valero Shutting Down Delaware Plant

VALERO_logoIn September, Valero opted to shut down it’s cokery and gasifier at its Delaware refinery, but kept the majority of the facility in operation. Today the other shoe dropped and the plant is closing down for good. Employees were given severance briefings this morning and will remain on the payroll for another 60 days. Delaware Governor Jack Markell said the state would provide assistance to the laid off workers and would also take steps to monitor the area for safety and environmental concerns.
