Stiefel Labs, a maker of dermatology and skin-care products, was bought out by GlaxoSmithKline in July of this year. GSK announced on wednesday that it plans to shut down the New York laboratory and move the work from there to other domestic and international locations. The plant employs 260 people who will be out of a job when the plant closes by the end of 2012.
