A plant that makes the flavors used by many popular pet foods is expanding in Greenwood, South Carolina. The company, SPF North America, will invest $10 million dollars into the expansion and expects to add 50 new jobs when completed. Hiring will begin immediately and extend into the first quarter of next year, when construction will begin on the facility.
The company is adding an R&D center to its existing facilities, where they will do research on the feeding behaviours of dogs and cats. Additionally, the plant will be adding an odor control apparatus.
