A $32 million dollar rail improvement project in the Philadelphia area is expected to bring in 1200 jobs over the next three years, says Pennsylvania Governor Rendell. The project involves lowering tracks so that trains can pull double stacked containers under bridges and overpasses. When completed, it will improve the efficiency of the rail corridor, shaving as much as 5 hours off travel times and easing congestion. The project will employ 300 people and another 900 indirect jobs are anticipated.
