Two comapnies are expanding into South Carolina, bringing 50 jobs each with them. Four Star Industries is building a pipe manufacturing plant in Allendale County, and investing $2.75 million into the project. When completed, it will bring 50 permanent jobs to the county, which is currently sitting at 22% unemployment. Also coming to the Palmetto State is a new plant operated by The Truss Company, an engineered wood manufacture. The $1.25 million investment which will also bring in 50 permanent jobs will be in Williamsburg County, where the unemployment rate is at 16%.
