United Services Automobile Association is expanding its banking and financial services operation in Tampa and bringing 200 jobs to the area in the process. Some of those jobs will be corporate transfers but the company anticipates 80 jobs will be filled locally starting in November. This is the second USAA expansion in Tampa this year. Back in February it consolidated some of its corporate operations, bringing in 400 new jobs.
USAA is a financial services corporation servicing members of the armed forces and veterans. It formed in 1922 by a group of Army officers that banded together to self insure when insurance companies wouldn’t provide insurance to members of the military based on risk perception.
