Economy, Featured, Government, Job Loss

massachusettsflag_160x120Massachusetts has been cutting jobs all year in an effort to make up for its budget deficits. So far this year, 1620 jobs have been cut, with 726 of those coming as layoffs. 129 of those layoffs came during the most recent pay period. The state still has a $600 million deficit, and further job cuts are possible. In the meantime, Governor Deval Patrick is seeking concessions from state employees, including possible furlough days, to avoid another 2,000 job cuts.
