Bassett Furniture Closing Virginia Factory, 45 Jobs Lost

bassett_160x120Bassett Furniture, a custom furniture manufacturer and retailer headquartered in Bassett, Virginia, announced today that it will close its fireboard factory by the end of the year. 45 jobs will lost when the factory shuts down. The company says that demand for fireboard has dropped and that fireboard is no longer part of their long-term strategy.

Basset Furniture was founded in 1902 and today employs over 1300 people in the US, Puerto Rico and Canada.
