$3.4 Billion Investment in a “Smart Energy Grid” Announced

barack_obama1The White House announced today that the federal government is investing $3.4 billion to modernize the nation’s energy grid. One hundred companies, agencies and other institutions received federal money today. The plan calls for a number of different improvements to the energy grid including improvements to energy production and transmission that will lower the cost of energy to consumers as well as making the grid more reliable overall. The White House estimates that tens of thousands of jobs will be created nation wide.
