Terex Cutting 170 Jobs at Iowa Plant

terex_160x120Terex Corporation has announced it will move production from its plant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to other Terex locations in North America, affecting 170 production workers.

About 50 engineering, sales and service jobs will remain in Cedar Rapids.

The firm will honor the contracts of its union workers. Non-union employees will get severance pay and outplacement assistance.

The Terex Cedarapids plant manufactures mobile crushing & screening equipment and asphalt pavers.

Founded in 1925, Westport, Connecticut’s Terex Corporation is a diversified global manufacturer of a broad range of heavy equipment for a variety of industries, including construction, infrastructure, quarrying, recycling, surface mining, shipping, transportation, refining, utility and maintenance.
