cessna_160x120Fifty employees at Cessna’s Columbus, Ohio plant will be notified within two weeks of their impending layoffs, part of the elimination of 1,300 jobs across the firm.

Up to 500 Cessna workers will get layoff notices this month.

Those affected will get 60 days notice, and severance packages. The firm currently employs 475 in Columbus.

The Cessna Aircraft Company is an airplane manufacturing corporation headquartered in Wichita, Kansas. Their main products are general aviation aircraft. Although they are the most well-known for their small, piston-powered aircraft, they also produce business jets. The company is a subsidiary of the US conglomerate Textron.
