Illinois’ Stock Yards Meat Packing will consolidate, cutting 75 jobs in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Some workers will be allowed to relocate to the firm’s Plymouth plant; the rest will be laid off. The St. Paul plant currently employs 125.
The workers’ union, United Food and Commercial Workers Local 789, says no details about the restructuring have been released.
Founded in 1893 in Chicago, Stock Yards Meat supplies fine cuts of meat to steakhouses, casinos and high-end restaurants.
