seattlecitylights_160x120Public electrical utility Seattle City Light is using $750,000 in Federal stimulus funds for an energy savings program, creating eight new jobs.

The Quick Lighting Upgrade Initiative encourages businesses to switch to energy-saving lighting.

The utility is hiring six part-time assistant energy management analysts, who will inspect commercial buildings; a full-time contract administrator, and a full-time program coordinator.

Seattle City Light is the public utility providing electrical power to Seattle, Washington and parts of its metropolitan area, including all of Shoreline and Lake Forest Park and parts of unincorporated King County, Burien, Normandy Park, Seatac, Renton, and Tukwila. About 740,000 residents are served.
