NCM Shutting Down, Laying Off 90 in Iowa

grundycenter_160x120NCM, which manufactures air-filtration components for cars and construction vehicles at its plant in Grundy Center, Iowa, is going out of business, putting its 90 remaining employees on the street.

The plant previously laid off 20% of its workforce, and went to a four-day week.

Founded nearly 50 years ago, NCM will most likely shut down in September.

Grundy Center is a city in, and the county seat of, Grundy County, Iowa. The population was 2,596 at the 2000 census.
