evite_160x120Oakland, California-based Internet company Evite has laid off nine of its 38 employees.

Two executives were laid off: general manager Rosanna McCollough and marketing veep Lariayn Payne.

No further details have been released, concerning the other seven employees affected.

Launched in 1998, Evite is a social-planning website for creating, sending, and managing online invitations. The website is a free, advertisement-supported service. It is owned by conglomerate IAC/InterActiveCorp.
