BMI is moving up to 30 jobs from its New York office to Tennessee, as part of a plan to shift administration positions from Manhattan to Nashville.

The performing rights organization has 140 employees in New York, and 500 in Nashville.

Broadcast Music Incorporated, usually referred to as BMI, is one of three US performing rights organizations, along with ASCAP and SESAC. It collects license fees on behalf of songwriters, composers, and music publishers, and distributes them as royalties to those members whose works have been performed.
