Savannah River Site Hold Job Fair

savannahriversite_160x120The Savannah River Site in South Carolina, which is hiring 3,000 new workers, hosted a job fair this week in Allendale to fill the remaining 2,400 jobs.

Through the American Recovery Act, the SRS is receiving $1.6 billion in stimulus dollars for job creation.

Over 8,000 people have applied for jobs with Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, and 600 have been hired to date.

SRS will hold more job fairs, but details have been released.

The Savannah River Site is a nuclear materials processing center in the state of South Carolina, located on land in Aiken Allendale and Barnwell Counties adjacent to the Savannah River, 25 miles from Augusta, Georgia. The site was built during the 1950s to refine nuclear materials for deployment in nuclear weapons.
