General Electric will build a research center in Van Buren Township, Michigan, creating over 1,100 jobs.

The Advanced Manufacturing & Software Technology Center will employ engineers and scientists in Michigan who were laid off by the auto industry.

GE will invest $100 million in the site, and receive $60 million in state incentives.
