Delta Air Lines Cuts Capacity; May Cut Jobs

Delat Air Lines liveryDelta Air Lines is cutting its seating capacity by 10% in September, and may eliminate more jobs.

In February, Delta granted voluntary buyouts to the more than 2,100 employees who requested them.

The carrier, which acquired Northwest Airlines in October 2008, let go 6,000 people between the two airlines.

Delta Air Lines is based and headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Delta operates an expansive domestic and international network, spanning North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Caribbean. It employs 70,000.
