Sutter Health has notified its 800 information technology professionals that IT will be targeted for job cuts across the 26-hospital medical system.
Contract workers in particular will be affected.
The health system is cutting costs in other ways, such as freezing funding for conferences and training.
Sutter Health is a not-for-profit hospital network in Northern California, based in Sacramento, California. It is the Bay Area’s largest hospital and medical-group network.
