Acushnet Lays Off 169 Golf Ball Makers

AcushnetFairhaven, Massachusetts-based Acushnet, maker of Titleist golf balls, will lay off 169 employees, or 11% of the workforce. The firm laid off 12% in January.

The firings will affect plants in New Bedford, Dartmouth and Fairhaven.

The company makes Titleist and Pinnacle golf balls; Titleist and Cobra golf clubs; FootJoy golf shoes; FootJoy and Titleist golf gloves; and FootJoy outerwear.
