From EmploymentCrossing:

According to the Star Gazette in Elmira, New York, Chemung County and state officials are working together with two prospects that between them could create 1,000 new jobs.

The New York county is close to inking a deal with a major company to place a distribution center in the town of Chemung, County Executive Tom Santulli said.

The other prospect is involved in the oil & gas exploration industry, Santulli said. If all goes well, the partnership could create 400 new jobs in Horseheads.
